Brexit slips slowly towards chaos that no one wanted

There is a theory that there are no uninteresting things, just uninterested people. Sometimes it seems Brexit was dreamed up to prove it. Past, present and even future all seem subsumed into it.

In London yesterday, the British Attorney General Geoffrey Cox warned that if Britain did not agree a deal and left purely under the terms of Article 50 it would be like being stuck in Dante’s “first circle of hell” – which is Limbo. Mr Cox is quite wrong; nothing happens in Limbo.

A great deal will happen post-Brexit. The grave fear is real dangers get obscured; in the heat of party plotting, the big picture is lost.
